State-of-the-art Drive Technology
The ΔΣ-Drive motor control technology is capable of delivering the perfect sine wave signal for the iron-coreless direct drive motor. By using PWM signal generation through ΔΣ (Delta Sigma) Modulation, as employed in Technics' fully digital amplifiers, motor vibrations are minimized, resulting in exceptionally smooth rotational precision.

This revolutionary technology was first introduced in Technics' SL-1200GR2 turntable and later integrated into the SL-1300G, where it was combined with the sophisticated iron-coreless dual rotor/single stator motor design, delivering outstanding rotational precision for ultimate audiophile vinyl playback.

Just like the SL-1300G, Technics incorporates the excellent iron-coreless dual rotor/single stator motor in the SL-1200/1210G Master Edition, eliminating unwanted "cogging" and providing high drive torque for superior rotational power. For the SL-1200/1210G Master Edition, this motor type has been thoroughly reworked with a reinforced stator board and non-magnetic screws, further reducing minute vibrations to stabilize the sensitive tracking process.
Last but not least, a hybrid encoder for rotational speed detection, using a Hall sensor for rotor position detection, ensures precise speed control even in the presence of external influences like warped vinyl discs, maintaining rock-solid pitch even for the most critical instruments, such as piano or violin.
Superb Mechanical Construction
In the SL-1200/1210G Master Edition, all electronic motor drive technologies are combined with top-tier mechanical engineering that makes the "G" model both valuable and desirable.
The 4-layer bottom chassis, made of aluminum die-cast and BMC (Bulk Moulding Compound), complemented by a 10mm thick hairline-brushed aluminum top plate and heavy-duty rubber coating on the chassis' bottom, results in an unparalleled mechanically rigid foundation that suppresses unwanted vibrations for an undisturbed vinyl tracking process.

Another key factor for rotational perfection is the 3-layer platter, made of aluminum die-cast, with vibration-damping heavy rubber on the bottom surface and a noble 2mm thick brass top plate for additional vibration reduction. Together with the solid rubber mat, the platter weighs an impressive 3.6 kg, enabling high mass inertia for ultimate smooth rotation, while adding a touch of high-quality feel and finish.

Each turntable in the SL-1200/1210G Master Edition is individually balanced on dedicated machines to ensure perfect rotation free of even the slightest imperfections.

The highly sensitive S-shaped magnesium tonearm, with high-precision bearings, offers ultimate initial motion sensitivity, making the most of the vibration-free chassis and drive technology for an incredibly precise reading of the information engraved in the vinyl grooves.

Highly efficient isolator feet made from synthetic high-tech damping material α-gel block external vibrations from the surface on which the unit rests, further soothing the tracking process for an undisturbed musical experience.

Latest Power Supply Technology
The excellent qualities of the mechanical and electronic drive system are further supported by the new Multi-stage Silent Power Supply, similar to the one used in our reference turntable, the SL-1000R.

It is a combination of a low-noise, high-speed power supply operating at over 100 kHz and a noise-canceling circuit that eliminates residual noise by injecting the reversed-phase current of the actual noise. This method achieves an extremely low noise floor, resulting in an exceptional signal-to-noise ratio and improved overall signal performance.
Commitment to Reducing Our Environmental Footprint

To reduce the environmental impact of our packaging while ensuring that Technics products are fully protected during their journey to consumers, the new packaging for the SL-1200/1210G Master Edition is free of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). Instead, it is made of cleverly shaped cardboard, providing safe protection for the product. Additionally, there is a separate cardboard box for the accessories, making removal and storage easier. Technics has worked hard to transform the packaging for their entire lineup to minimize their environmental footprint.
