Service Upgrade – High Fidelity Shielded RCA Cable (1.25 m)

For Technics SL-1200 / SL-1210 turntables

Upgrade your turntable with a professionally modified high-fidelity signal cable for maximum signal purity, lower noise, and optimal performance in both HiFi and DJ applications.

General:

Replace your old cable with this high-fidelity signal cable.
Result: outstanding sound quality for both the HiFi and DJ sector.

Sensitive Moving Coil (MC) cartridges, as well as High Output Moving Magnet (MM) cartridges, can be used without any issues with this upgrade, as the overall electrical capacitance is reduced to below 85 pF!!

Why is this important:

A standard signal cable from, for example, the Technics SL-1200MK2 has an electrical capacitance of 125 pF to 325 pF, depending on the production series of the MK2.
Our experience shows that it is often close to 325 pF.

Most phono amplifiers have an input capacitance of around 100 pF, sometimes more.

Combined with the capacitance of the standard MK2 signal cable, this can create peaks in the higher frequency range, resulting in surface noise and sibilance.

With the above upgrade, this is effectively eliminated, making your turntable ideally suited for the HiFi segment.

Technical execution:

Includes REAN® NYS series gold RCA plugs & a high-fidelity ground cable with gold-plated fork connector.

New improved internal PCB (printed circuit board) for improved signal transfer between tonearm wiring and RCA interconnect.

The new PCB is designed with the option on the rear side to output the signal with “Internal Ground”. In rental applications this is often convenient and simplifies connecting turntables on stage.
In the HiFi segment, however, we always keep the original configuration with a separate ground wire.

Our experience shows that the original PCB can cause hum issues; therefore we have decided not to make any compromises and to replace the PCB as standard.

Old solder joints of the tonearm PCB (which connects the tonearm wiring to the signal cable) are removed, cleaned, and completely professionally resoldered using a silver-tin alloy.
